6. First Backup - Once you have the settings the way you like them click Backup.  Depending on how many messages and calls you have stored on your phone the first backup may take some time and data (Maybe even a day or two).  We recommend that you do this at night while your phone is on Wifi and charging.

7. Once the first backup is complete you can now go into your Gmail account.  You will have two new labels, one called 4EverText and one called 4EverCall.  Click on that label and you will find all your text messages and call logs.

FAQ:

Q:  My first backup is taking a long time and I think it is stuck.

A:  The first backup can take a long time depending on the number of text messages and phone calls you have saved on your device. Go into your gmail account and check to see if the 4EverText label is there.  If so click on it and see if the messages are being saved there. If so then the sync is working.  If you think the app is frozen then close the app (press the menu button at your home screen) and click close.  Then open the app back up and it should restart the app.

Q: How much data will 4EverText use.

A: The most amount of data you will use is during the first sync stage.  We recommend that your phone is connected to WiFi during that time.  After that the app will use very little data because your text message and call log data is so small. You should not see much of your data being used by 4EverText.

Q: Will 4EverText clutter up my gmail inbox?

A: We all need less email to sort through, don't we?  We understand that so 4EverText will not send your messages to your inbox.  Instead  we archive the messages under the two new labels that we create.  By default they will be called 4EverText and 4EverCall.  To view your text messages you will need to click on those labels inside of Gmail.

Q: 4EverText says "idle" all the time.  I don't think it is working.

A: 4EverText will stay idle most of the time and will only sync your messages when the time comes.  To be sure the app is working go into your Gmail account and click on the 4EverText label.  There you should see your most recent text messages at the top of the list.  If for some reason it is not syncing go to our support page and create a service request.

Q: Can 4EverText only back up my work text messages?

A: No. 4EverText backs up all messages sent to your phone.  If you have both work and personal messages sent to that phone it will back up all of them. To fix this you would need to have a business phone and a personal phone with 4EverText only installed on the business phone.

Q: I do not want all of my messages going into the Gmail account I currently have.  Can I have it sync to another account.

A: Yes.  Some clients create another gmail account to only store their messages to. For example I could create a MarksText@gmail.com account with Gmail.  Then I would link that account to my cell phone.  After the account is linked I could download 4EverText and link it to my new Gmail account.

Q: How do I search for my text messages within Gmail.

A: Once your message are synced with Gmail you would search for them just like you would an email inside of Gmail.  Go to the search box in Gmail and search for your clients name or cellphone number.  That will pull up all text messages and call logs with that client. You could also search the Text label for messages only by clicking on the 4EverText label and then searching for your clients name or number. The number beside the message tells you how many messages are in that thread.  Gmail can hold up to 100 messages in a thread.

Q: Is 4EverText available on Apple devices.

A:  Unfortunately 4EverText is not available on Apple devices at this time.  We are working hard on our Apple app.  Sign up below so we can stay in touch about the development.

We currently do not have an Apple / IOS version, but sign up below and once we do you will be the first to know.
